Duchess of Cambridge volunteers with Scouting in the United Kingdom

HRH The Duchess of Cambridge has become Scouts United Kingdom's newest volunteer and will help at Beaver Scout Colonies (6-8 year olds) and Cub Scout Packs (8-10½ year olds) close to where she is living.

After spending time considering a number of organisations, The Duchess has chosen to volunteer with Scouting UK because she has been so impressed by the impact that Scouting has on young people and on communities.

This news is a significant endorsement of Scouting, and for the work carried out by The Scout Association to ensure that there are many flexible ways to volunteer. In turn, this will be a great encouragement to existing volunteers, will be an inspiration for more adults to volunteer, and will be a strong message to the wider society.

Adults of all ages are finding ways to volunteer that fit in around their lives.
